    hello

i use nlite to install windows xp sp2 with NO internet explorer, media player, etc i install windows with almost nothing! and then i use xplite to remove some components

i wanted to be able to view windows media in firefox, for that i could use:

    lite codec packages from:

    http://www.codecguide.com
    or
    http://ksphere.free.fr/public/codecslite

that way i dont need to have windows media player installed, but i was getting a error message everytime i try to watch a website with a video:
    NPDSPLAY (window title)
    "can not create DirectShow Player"

i did EVERYTHING i could to fix it, searched and found this:
    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=297172

but it didn't help, and i also DON'T want to install windows media player, i wanted to use a lite package.

but i found a fix for my problem, it looks like firefox requires "java script" to be installed in windows, i can't remove it with xplite

    does this make any sense???

    thanks!

Here is the MediaPlayerConnectivity extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/446/
As far as javascript, I believe you will need a Java application to be installed. I assume you removed the MSJVM, so you will need Sun's Java if you want to use any Java related apps: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp
