    Hi,
I am trying to install a PCI slot graphics card and the directions say to disable the Integrated Graphics first. I have no idea how to do this and the Gateway email support keep sending me answers to questions I didn’t ask. Also, once I disable the Integrated Graphics will I be able to navigate thru Windows to re-enable them if the graphics card should for whatever reason not work?
    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

you'll have to disable it in the bios (i think its either F2, F10, or F12...tap this as soon as you turn your computer on). you'll need to disable it first, shutdown, installing the pci card, then boot up.

sometimes, the onboard graphics card will automatically disable itself when the board detects another video card.

When I enter the Bios menu, go to Advanced Options then Video Configuration and then there is only one option “Primary Video Adapter”, when I select it I have 2 choices AGP or PCI. It is set to PCI. I'm not sure how to disable the Intergrated Graphics. Am I looking in the right area of the Bios setup?

Thanks so much for your help,
    Elizabeth

    Yes, that's the right area.

If it's set to PCI, then that should be fine (as long as there aren't any sub menus under AGP and PCI like disabled or enabled etc).

Make sure you save your settings before you exit the Bios.

There is usually info at the bottom of the screen telling you to hit F10 to save and exit or whatever.

If you wish to double check that you're running from the PCI Gfx card go into your display properties and on the settings tab it should say "The PCI Gfx card" on "Your monitor" :D.. Sorry if I'm just pointing out the obvious...
