Hello. I have recently re-installed XP onto my pc, and ever since then I have had no sound. I tried 2 different sets of speakers to make sure it was a software problem. My device manager shows that the PCI device is the only one that has a yellow question mark by it.. after downloading a few drivers that were recommended by other help forums, that is the only one that is left that, there were a few more.. USB controller was yellow until the last driver that was downloaded.. have no clue what its called at the moment. I have my mobo name and chipset. I have downloaded the supposive correct driver for it, so i guess my only question would be how to i get to that particular driver and un-install it and re-install it again. Here is a list of my DxDiag settings, or at least the important looking ones:

I went to the link and downloaded the sound driver... extracted the files and restarted my computer.. still didnt work.. then I went back to that site through the link you left and I was going to update all the drivers on there just in case.. well... I downloaded one for my BIOS, and i extracted, rebooted, now it says: System haulted! Alert! Incompatible processor detected. That is the first thing that pops up just a few seconds after i hit the power button. The problem for me here is.. it doesn't recognize my usb ports and my keyboard for that matter. Since i have no old school hookups for my keyboard or mouse on the system.. am I screwed? From the looks of it.. I have to take my CPU out and put one that is compatible with the A02 BIOS driver.. and if thats the case.. I'd rather buy another computer. Oh yea.. it's a dell by the way.. :/
