How do you do it? How much does it cost?

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 2.8GHz P4 running 2K which recently got attacked by a rather nasty virus. Cleaned it up but it still acts a little wierd, so I decided its a good time to upgrade to Xp.

Is there a mojor difference or benefit between the home and pro versions? Is there a major price difference? Is there a site that walks people through the process?

I consider myself to be an internediate computer user, should I attempt this upgrade myself or take it somewhere for the upgrade?

a clean install is a better choice than upgrading froma previous OS as you dont end up with residual junk files, downside is you will have to backup all your important data as it will be erased in the install process.

If you wish to upgrade Chuck ... I think you can easily do this yourself
