I wonder if anyone out there can advise me as to what the data transfer speed to a USB 2 Sony memory stick should be in the region of, ie how long to transfer on average 1MB of date to / from it??

    Many thanks!!

USB2.0 transfer rates are theoretically maxed @ 480Mbits/second similar to your net connection and not to be confused with megabytes per second, in which the speeds would average out at around 6/8mb/s

not all USB2.0 items will use the full bandwidth so speeds are varied.

but some info on Sony and MS
