**I apologize for my horrible english, I'm from Brazil and it's 2am and I'm tired**

Ok, first I want to say that I´ve allready followed the steps in the guide available here (including shuting off system restore, safe mode, etc) . It didn't work.

First, Ad-aware is the only program that is detecting "coolwebsearch", but even if I remove the files it finds, when I scan again it´s still there.
cwshreder doesn't find anything. Spybot sometimes when I run it it finds something, sometimes it doesn't.

I´m runnig a-squared and everytime I open a folder, or open a program or something it keeps warning me with thew messege(it happens more or only when I'm conected to the net, router on, and it sometimes stops for a long time):

    "File name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdkjm32.exe or
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipyb32.exe or
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfczb32.exe or
C:\WINDOWS\sdkcc32.exe or.... (the names vary but the 32.exe is allways) present.
Diagnosis: Trojan.Win32.Agent.bi (or ending in .bq)
    What does this mean?
The program described above was trying to be executed. The scan result was that this file is infected by Malware. You are urgently advised to deny this program!"
I always click on "delete file" and it keeps happening...

Evrytime I run norton or other antivirus it also finds something and even after deleting.

Also I got about:blank and nothing has fixed it, even AboutBuster!

I really hope someone can help me, I´m getting desperate and do not want to have to reformat my hard disk....

One more thing, and this might have been my fault since I ran Hijack This and posted my log on the "Hijack This analysis" and deleted everything suspicious and bad. I can no longer turn on the Auto-Protect feature and the e-mail scanner in my Norton AntiVirus (using Norton SystemWorks 2004 professional) , no matter how many times I click to turn it on...

....I think thats all....sory for the huge post but I really need help.

    all in WinXP Professional

    Thanks in advanced,
    Grendel
PS.: Got Firefox, no mater what happens never going back to IE!!!

    [IMG] Download HijackThis 1.99.1

[IMG] Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

[IMG] Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file as your backups will not be safely stored.

[IMG]Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

[IMG]Run HijackThis and save your log file.

[IMG] Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next post. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post as it will be removed).

Thank you for ansewring my plea...
I didn´t think anyone was going to answer so I ran a program called TDS-3 (I saw on another forum)... I think everything is ok now... but just to be sure I have attached my HJT log.
TDS-3 found some trojans, including the one in the title of my post, it also found a worm related to my norton... I deleted all the files it found to be "nasty"... the only problem I haven´t seemd to fix is the coolwebserach that still shows up on my Ad-aware scan...
I havent opened IE, Im afraid if I do it things will start to go wrong again.
One more thing, I uninstalled my Norton, now I need a new anti-virus, preferably free since here any program is really expensive.

    Thank you

Thank you again for yout help!

I have done everything you said. The only thing I could not do was -Reset web settings-, when I click on the button I get a messege that says it is "not possible to reset web settings" (with or without the start page checked) and it is still set to about:blank...

You dont have the symptoms of the hijacker, the error or message your getting is most likely because your on a limited account.

Can you manually change you homepage?

I will try to do it manually, I found it strange because it is my computer and there is only my account (administrator). Since I have gone to Firefox I did't think much about this problem.... I'm so relieved i didn't need to reformat...

Copy the contents of the Quote Box below to Notepad. Then click File and then Save As. Change the Save as Type to All Files. Name the file iefix.reg and then click save. (make sure you save it somewhere you can find it. Saving it to your Desktop may make that easy.)

Double-click on the iefix.reg file on your desktop (or locate it with Windows Explorer and double click on it if not saved to the Desktop) and when it prompts to merge, click YES!

After you do the above, reboot and see if your homepage isnt changed.
