New to using a Mac, have a 2011 MBP. Looking for Antivirus and Spyware programs to use? What are some of the better ones out there?

Don't know much about Mac. When my son got one I asked a similar question. He is using ClamAV.

Here is a link to the thread.

There aren't a great deal of useful or necessary antivirus, spyware, or Malware applications for Mac. ClamAV is a windows program, so it will not run on your MacBook Pro. You can view and change around some security features through "system preferences">Sharing or >Security & Privacy, but the installation of antivirus on the Mac usually causes it to just run slower.

Apple updates usually address security flaws and bugs as best as they can through clicking the Apple Logo>Software Update.
