    Hello,

Thanks for your help in advance.

I think this might be caused by Malware, but leave it up to you for suggestions.

In the last 5 days I've notice the cursor flashing up as the save/eggtimer icon every 2-10 seconds no matter what screen or programme I'm on. Even when logging in to windows it flashes up several times during that log in process. It's very fast - just a flash - then returns to the cursor icon. However, I use a fingerprint scanner. No matter what screen or programme I'm on it's doing this constantly. It never did it before this week - other than when I pressed ctrl S. It's done it several times since I've typed this./

Also, the cursor has a mind of it's own about once a day. What happens is though I try to drag it one direction, I can't move it or it goes the other way. I don't use a mouse but a touch pad. I'm careful not to touch the pad and know that it's just sort of doing it itself. Occasionally it even clicks on files during this process when I'm not clicking.

What do you suggest? I saw the things to do before posting Hijack This thread - should I go through that?
    Thank you. :)

    Hi Sally!
    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Is there anyone else within your physical range that might have a touchpad or mouse that could be accidentally connecting to your mouse mechanism via an infrared or radio signal? Does the same thing happen if you physically take your computer someplace else in your city? I suggest you borrow a mouse, if you don't have one that goes with your computer, and see if it gives you the same effects as the touchpad. If at all possible, use a corded mouse, not a cordless one. Also, go into Start / Settings and open Mouse, go to the hardware tab and run the trouble-shooting button. If your cursor is straying and clicking on things, it would be a good idea to check your computer for malware, but make sure first it's not an accidental connection occuring with someone else's computer, which does happen sometimes. If you would like our help with looking for malware, please follow the instructions and links in the box so we can look at your logs:

    Hi, Thanks for that.

I'm working in Africa without many facilities but occasionally others come with lap tops and perhaps one is interferring with my system? Though actually it also happens at home here and no one else has one within at least 500 metres so I don't know.

I want to disable bluetooth as well - do you know how to do this?

I am going through the steps to post the Hijack this log and will do so when done.

    Thanks.

I have to ask about this.
Please do as much of the READ & RUN ME as possible. HijackThis simply doesn't offer us enough information to see what's going on with your computer.

    Thanks.
