With my sony laptop, WMP, when minimized disapears only to pop up on song changes. Even then it pops up above the sys tray, taking up very little screeen.

On my deskop, when minimized, it acts just like any other program (see attached image)

Does anyone know the setting that will make my desktop WMP work like that of my laptop?

    Thanks

I think what you want is for WMP to operate in "minimode". To do this right click on an empty portion of the taskbar, go to toolbars, and put a check by the WMP option. Then when you minimize WMP it will do so in minimode and you will have your little popup when a new song begins.

    Hope this helps.
