I'd strongly recommend a 790FX/GX based mobo. But,you would make the best choice if you decide to go with a X3 720BE,which is really OC-able and pretty cheap.X3 720+Biostar TA-790GX=L.O.V.E.You'll be able to suck the juice out if it.

seems that board is out of stock now....and iffy as far as reviews are....
when looking for motherboards, I have usually stuck with intel based boards (not sure why, really, just have been pretty reliable) and I don't really look at ones that are priced below $100, or even $150. I just think that knowing that the motherboard is responsible for keeping track of everything, you should go for quality, over price. Not saying you cant get away from that, I've purchased $50 mobo's too, but if i'm gonna put $1000 into a build, i won't skimp on the motherboard. Read the reviews, and go with your gut. be cautious while searching. most of the lower priced boards are MicroATX, meaning they are smaller. What is your main purpose for the computer? if its gaming you will definitely want a higher end one, and you will need to asses what else is going into it. What else are you purchasing along with this? or what older hardware do you plan on using. As far as brands go, I've used ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI, all without problems. I'm sure others will say the same for some other brands too.

    Thanks.

I would get a higher price one that is $200 and up but I ain't made of money right now.

Will this processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115207 work good on this MD? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128359

This is my new mobo. I didn't want to spend the money right now, but Tigerdirect were the only ones who had it left in stock in the micro version with one PCIe slot. With the ATX, it has two. I really don't need two video cards, and my Compaq's board AM82LN-Naos GL6 (it's a microATX) has never had a BIOS update from Dell (can't even get the original on the site :mad), only it's sister board the Nodus. They say the other board's BIOS will work with mine, but you lose integrated graphics and who know what other issues may crop up. This one is much more upgradeable. I play games on the 36" TV, so dual monitors are not an issue.

BTW, sweet processor! But I think I'll wait until it comes down in price to upgrade from my X2 3800+, it's overclocked to 2.5GHz, anyway...
