winrar

I am extracting some .rar files, some .zip files that I downloaded from megaupload.com. Been working like a champ til about a week ago. Now I am getting many crc corrupt file error messages on efforts to extract. Redownloading some files works sometimes. I otherwise have no issues with the computer, and have run scandisk and defrag. Could this be a hard disk issue?

 

The WinRar program could be damaged. Try a reinstall. Also run a couple of anti-malware scannings. Malware very often hinders download and install. MBAM & SAS are the best.

 

I have run malware bytes, and cleaned up the system that way. Ran a AVG Virus scan, all ok. Not sure what the abbreviated suggestions were? I downloaded a fresh copy of winrar to my external drive, same problem.

 

SUPERAntiSpyware was the other one suggested, sorry.

 

Have you tried using TUGZip?

Or 7-Zip to extract them?

It still may be malware related. But try to see if those will extract the file(s). :-o
