Newly fledged tech

Hi folks,

I've been a computer power user since the late 80s. When I got laid off a few years back, I decided to study IT so I could work in the technical field. So here I am, a newly fledged tech doing phone support for a local ISP. This month I have had to explain 1) the location of the spacebar, 2) the concept of spyware, 3) the fact that you can't read e-mail on a distant computer just because you both use Microsoft Outlook, and 4) that fraudware vendors generally don't give out valid contact information. I'm glad to be able to help people, and when I get stumped (as happens several times a day ), I hope I can turn to people here for help. I've been impressed with this site for years, and I figure the forums are similarly high quality.

 

There's people out there that don't know the location of the space bar!? Oh my. :eek
