    Hello,

Non-legit program was downloaded to the machine (don't know what). Now Internet Explorer won't work and programs uch as Storm won't work and are unable to be reinstalled.

When running Hitman Pro, it completed instantly instead of taking a little longer as usually is the case.

    Logs attached.

    Thanks!

Run Hitman Pro again and enable the 30 day trial license. RUn a scan and have it repair the below that it reported.

Then run RogueKiller again and select the below Tasks and have them removed.

    Then immediately reboot your PC.

After reboot, tell me if it is working any better.

Ok. I did that and rebooted. I have attached both logs. 1 detaling the deletion, and the second one being a rescan after reboot.

Done. 2 logs attached. One detailing deletions, the second a rescan after reboot.

    • The wireless connection now gets connectivity, and the windows updates connect.
    • Skype now complains about being unable to reload a DLL
    • Windows Defender has now woken up and is complaining about Malware
    • Internet Explorer still won't connect to the internet
    • Startup and shut down times are much faster

    Hope this helps.

Make sure that you have disabled UAC as requested in the READ & RUN ME. Your logs show it is still enabled.

Now that your internet connection has been repaired, a lot more malware is showing up in your new Hitman log. So run Hitman again and have it cleanup all the new malware. Then reboot. After reboot, run another new scan with Hitman and attach this new log.

Now please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

Also, now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the Hitman Pro log
    • the JRT.TXT log
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Sorry, it seems I did not drag the slider fully down. What a rookie mistake to make. :-o

Attached Hitman Pro logs detailing deletion and rescan after reboot.

    • Windows Defender disabled prior to scanning
    • JRT log attached.

    • Logs attached
    • Skype error message gone away
    • Internet Explorer working
    • Boot up time a little faster again

    :cool

Okay it is sounding pretty good now. We just have a few more files to remove. Let's see if you can find and delete the below manually.

    Code:
    2015-08-31 17:26:30 C:\WINDOWS\tasks\System Healer Period.job
    2015-08-31 17:26:30 C:\WINDOWS\tasks\System Healer StartUp.job
    2015-08-31 16:21:13 C:\WINDOWS\system32\tasks\CTFKQWHCN
    Let me know your results.

Once these are removed, we should be able to move on to Final Instructions.

Yep, they seem to have gone and persist across reboots, but attached log just to be sure.

Yeah, all seems well although occasionally the wireless icon doesn't open up. Not sure if that's just a Windows 8.1 / hardware thing though.

If I go into Networks and right click and connect, it then comes up.

For non-malware problems like you could be having with your network connection, you can discuss them in the Software Forum if problems persist.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • For Windows 8 and 8.1 system restore see this link: Win 8 System Restore - How to enable/disable
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
