PC beeps

My PC is giving off a short beep every few minutes. Just started doing it tonight and I tried shutting it down and restarting but it's still doing it, any thoughts?

 

God do I feel stupid! I shut down my Pc and opened it up. I cleaned the dust out and checked all the connections and while I was doing it, I heard a beep, even though the power was unplugged. I sat and waited a while and finally found that my wife left her cell phone in the room and it was beeping to signal a missed call! It was hidden among some flowers she was working with.
I tried to delete this thread, but I don't know how, so have a good laugh!

 

I wish I could say I've never done anything like that but I too am human. ROFL!!

I've done worse things, in my time.

 

No, unfortunately, it's not a joke. But in my defense, it wasn't my cell phone, and I was not familiar with the beep, and since the PC was the only other electronic device in the room (and the ONLY thing I new about, since the phone was covered) it was only logical to think it came from the PC. No damage done though, the PC needed dusted anyway.
WOW, do you really think I'll be famous for this! I could be a real celebrity with some of the other stupid stuff I've done in my life!

 

I darn near spewed my coffee reading this! LMAO roddinron, I think we have ALL been faced with situations like this at one time or another and ya just have to laugh about it. I 'could' take it one step further and make your thread a sticky.

In all seriousness..if you want the thread deleted, or moved to the lounge for entertainment purposes let me know and consider it done.

 

Nothing to be ashamed of. weirdness happens I have done things like this, but you will be remembered in joke form for at least a week.

 

AbbySue, do with me as you will, I guess it is pretty entertaining (judging from the response it's gotten so far) and I'm actually glad I didn't delete it now. Leave (some people may even learn something from it?) or put it where you think it will be more appropriate, and bring the most smiles. Most of the posts on these boards are really serious, and if this gives a little break, then it's done some good, and believe me, no one thinks it's funnier than I do.

 

Now, I don't like to laugh at someone else's mistakes, but that WAS hilarious and we do appreicate you sharing that with us. I can only imagine the look on your face when you finally found out the cause of the beep!!! Where's a camera when you need one?
