    Hi,
I've tested the removal methods on this website in the past two days. I have Windows 7 32 bit and apparently, I havent been able to remove these annoying viruses. RootRepeal couldnt run on my computer either. Here is the crash report:

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You need to attach logs from the below scans as requested
    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes
    • MGtools - no it is not what you attached. As stated in the procedure, the log is c:\MGlogs.zip It is not in the C:\MGtools folder.
Also please follow the below instructions.

Please do the below so that we can boot to System Recovery Options to run a scan.

For x32 (x86) bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to a flash drive.
For x64 bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64 and save it to a flash drive.

Plug the flashdrive into the infected PC.

Enter System Recovery Options from the Advanced Boot Options:
    • Restart the computer.
    • As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until Advanced Boot Options appears.
    • Use the arrow keys to select the Repair your computer menu item.
    • Select US as the keyboard language settings, and then click Next.
    • Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    • Select your user account an click Next.

On the System Recovery Options menu you will get the following options:
    • Select Command Prompt
    • In the command window type in notepad and press Enter.
    • The notepad opens. Under File menu select Open.
    • Select "Computer" and find your flash drive letter and close the notepad.
    • In the command window type e:\frst.exe (for x64 bit version type e:\frst64) and press Enter
Note: Replace letter e with the drive letter of your flash drive.
    • The tool will start to run.
    • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the flash drive. Please attach this file to your next reply. (See: How to attach)

    Hi Chaslang,

    attached is the MGTools.

This is interesting though. After I spent a whole night to run all the scan, this morning, my computer was still infected. Yet after I came back home from school today, the redirect virus stops.
Should I wait for a few days to see if it's infected?

Yes and if you find you still have problems finish what I ask you to do in message # 2 and attach the logs.

Also your ComboFix and MGtools logs were obtained in safe boot mode which is not really what we want unless running in normal boot mode is impossible and you did not say your PC would not function in normal boot mode.

    Chaslang,
I tried F8 but my computer stuck at "windows is loading files..."
Attached are the logs in normal boot.

    Thanks so much for helping.

You still did not attach the logs from SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes that were requested twice. Please attach below since you ran them more than once
    Code:
    C:\Users\Phy\AppData\Roaming\SUPERAntiSpyware.com\SUPERAntiSpyware\Logs\
    Apr 11 2012 32017 "SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log - 04-11-2012 - 12-00-06.log"
    Apr 12 2012 10865 "SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log - 04-12-2012 - 05-26-50.log"
    Apr 12 2012 19327 "SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log - 04-12-2012 - 08-01-24.log"

    "C:\Users\Phy\AppData\Roaming\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\"
    Apr 10 2012 1942 "mbam-log-2012-04-10 (03-48-53).txt"
    Apr 12 2012 1940 "mbam-log-2012-04-12 (08-06-27).txt"

Exactly where in the below steps did you get to?
Did you really want the below installed and popping up with reminders???

Goto the below link and follow the instructions for running TDSSKiller from Kaspersky
    • Be sure to attach your log from TDSSKiller
Now please also download MBRCheck to your desktop.

See the download links under this icon [IMG]
    • Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
    • It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
      • Done! Press ENTER to exit...
    • Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
      • Found non-standard or infected MBR.
      • Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:
    • Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
    • MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.
    • Attach this log to your next message. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win 7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: UrlSearchHook Class - {00000000-6E41-4FD3-8538-502F5495E5FC} - C:\Program Files\Ask.com\GenericAskToolbar.dll
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: AVG Do-Not-Track - {31332EEF-CB9F-458F-AFEB-D30E9A66B6BA} - C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG2012\avgdtiex.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: WormRadar.com IESiteBlocker.NavFilter - {3CA2F312-6F6E-4B53-A66E-4E65E497C8C0} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: Ask Toolbar BHO - {D4027C7F-154A-4066-A1AD-4243D8127440} - C:\Program Files\Ask.com\GenericAskToolbar.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: Foxit PDF Creator Toolbar - {D4027C7F-154A-4066-A1AD-4243D8127440} - C:\Program Files\Ask.com\GenericAskToolbar.dll

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Now uninstall the below software:
    Ask Toolbar

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it has expired or need to be updated to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

If after running Combofix you discover none of your programs will open up because you recieve the following error: Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion then you will need to reboot your computer which will normally fix this problem.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the TDSSkiller log
    • the MBRcheck log
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip

when I clicked f8 and chose "repair your computer," it turned into a black screen with a bar saying "windows is loading file" and just stuck there.

TDSSKiller could not run on my computer. I've tried changing its name and redownload it from TDSSkiller website, no lucks. My computer started turning into a blue screen saying that it is dumping files because it is crashing so I decided I should stop messing around with TDSSKiller.

Do you have your Windows 7 Bootable DVD? You have a faked MBR that needs to be fixed.

Also there appears to be an infected partition added to your hard disk
    Code:
    Partition Disk #0, Partition #3
Partition Size 1.45 MB (1,523,712 bytes)
    Partition Starting Offset 120,032,591,872 bytes

I dont. My laptop came with Windows 7 already installed. I only have a disc of Microsoft Office Professional 2010, which probably doesn't help.

I have a thinkpad so I can still use Rescue and Recovery option though. I am not sure if that will eliminate the viruses

I'm not sure that this has the ability to fix both the infected MBR and also the infected partition that was added to your hard disk. In addition, if you are not careful with what the Rescue and Recovery does, you could reset back to factory ship condition and lose all your personal data.

Can you borrow a Windows 7 boot DVD from a friend? If not you can try buying and making a Windows 7 System Recovery CD from the below site. Note this is not a full blown Windows 7 DVD it is just a System Recovery Environment CD.

    http://systemdiscs.com/?utm_source=neosmart&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=Win7_Recovery

You want the Windows 7 32-Bit Recovery CD

If you decide to purchase and make this disk, there will also be another disk will will need to make to remove the infected partition but this disk is free.
