Probably a easy question

Hello to all, I just joined the site and I feel bit odd about asking a question. Let me start by saying that I am not brilliant with computers. My question is this. Whenever I am running a search and I click on one of the results I get redirected to another site(ebay,google,search now etc...) this also happens sometimes when I click a link within a site at times. Is there a solution to this or am I hosed. I am running IE 6.0 and windows ME. thank you.
