Norton detects trojan - removal failed?

Hi,

I've never had this before. Norton Anti Virus 14.0.4.1 with updates has detected a trojan. No description, says removal failure, recommended action - no action required, and actions - no actions available for this item. Went to Symantec website, no explanation there, but I did as suggested, turning off system restore, using search, checking registry, and win.ini, system.ini etc. for the file. Could not find it anywhere. The trojan was in a keygen hidden inside another file - last seen in recycle bin. Could find no references to it.

Checking with other users of the computer, the file had not been opened, just deleted.

So, while Symantec didn't say what it was and couldn't remove it, is it gone? Have done another scan and nothing shows up.

Any help for the trojan challenged newbie would be appreciated.

 

Thank you! I followed the steps and didn't find the trojan. However there was alot of spyware/adware that Norton never picked up. Feel much better. Thanks again.
