Helping a friend with removal

Hello everyone.

I've requested and successfully received help in the past with my own PC's. However, this time it is for a friend. His son to be exact (who knows what the hell he downloaded/clicked-on!).

Windows 8, 64 bit. Very cheap laptop from Wal-Mart. So, not working with a great machine here.

Showing similar symptoms I've encountered in the past. For anything to get done I will continue to operate in safe mode, whenever it's appropriate. Without networking mind you. If the laptop is seeking any kind of internet it slows down even more.

Trying my best to follow all of the steps, I've gotten to the point of running the RogueKiller scan. It keeps getting stuck at 15%, during the scan of the registry. I usually would never post without logs and such, but I didn't want to continue and go out of order. So I stopped. I've tried re-scanning several times, including re-downloading RogueKiller. Always stops at 15%. Never had a scan freeze on me like that.

For what's it's worth it keeps jamming up on....

Below it does detect three items early in the scan...

Still working on this...

Due to the laptop I'm working with having issues connection to internet, I have saved the cleaners/scanners to thumb drive using a different laptop. Is that going to be an issue moving forward?

I can start over if need be. I will say that the scans that actually function and complete have shown no issues. That being MB.

Lastly, I've never worked with Win 8. So please bare with me!
