Norton antivirus detected a trojan. Could not delete it. I have disabled system restore (do not have about:blank or home search hijack), have enabled viewing of hidden files etc. I already use adaware and spybot but have also downloaded and used CCleaner, Sypware Blaster etc (as on the guide). I have online scanned with trend micro, but have not been able to with symantec, have tried in safe mode with networking and in normal mode - i get a blank screen. This has happened approx 13 times in the last 24 hours.
Apparently there is now no virus/threat to my computer BUT every time i reboot in normal mode i get a small error box:-
    error
    isactiveguard: RegOpenkey Ex failed 5.0

This doesn't actually seem to affect the working of the computer, but i feel it shouldn't be there.

Any help would be much appreciated as I am way out of my league with this.

Fixed - many thanks for all of you who have helped so many people in the past that give clues for problems. Used a registry mechanic, deleted some registry entries (having made a backup) and everything is fine now.
