I just upgraded to a 64bit version of windows. I have no virus protection as Norton does not seem to install. Is there an anti virus software for this version of windows? Also, I downloaded Spybot, and I already have spyware. I only have windows and firefox installed, as well as spybot, microsoft anti spyware, ad aware and a few movie players such as winamp quicktime, and divx. I also have winzip and win rar.
The spyware I have are simple tracking cookies, but they keep showing up. Will the things in the read this first work on my operating system? And should I really worry about Media Plex, Advertising.com, and avenue a inc?
I've had problems with these before, and they never did go away. But I even have a new hard drive. It's impossible, that they are left over from my old machine. Any suggestions?
    Thanks Thedagem
    PS Happy holidays everyone.

If you surf anywhere, you are going to get cookies unless you setup your system to block ALL cookies. But you will not like the effect that causes since you will not be able to access many websites properly that way. Most cookies are not really problems. Just clean them with any tool you like.

Some cookies you may even want to keep because they can be useful too you.

Hey thanks, they don't seem to slow down my machine, it's just that they keep comming back, and I didn't know if it could amount to a problem or not. but my first question was about an antivirus program for windows XP Professional x64. Is there one?

There are programs that support 64 bit Windows but I'm not sure if they are true 64 bit applications. That is not really a question for this forum though.

NOD from Eset may have one now. You'll have to check in Software.
