Just bought new Dell Inspiron 700m notebook (XP Home V2002, SP2; Pentium 1.70 GHz, 512 MB SDRAM) and have it up and working on a wireless network. Well, the internet connection works, that is. I cannot, however, connect to the server or other notebook on the network.

-I do not know how to make sure this notebook is in the workgroup on the server (help here?), in case that is the problem. I did verify on this notebook that I am on the administrtor user and that the computer is assigned to the right workgroup.

-THis notebook cannot be pinged from the server. From the notebook, I ping the server with no problem. I tried to ping the notebook from the notebook (you never know!), with no success.

-The wireless network is working, as the two other computers are communicating with each other / sharing the printer / etc.

Any advice or help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!

It sounds like an issue with a Firewall on your Laptop or Server.
