Heat sink

I bought an intel/pentim heatsink, will it work on my amd athalon?

 

Some Can and Some Can not
But when you swap it you should pay attention to t* and and fan rpm
the most important that the heatsink must be in seat to 4 rubber pieces at 4 corners to avoid to Broken core of AMD.

 

Since you can buy a good heatsink and fan for under $10, I'd be on the safe side and just do that, though some are interchangeable. Look up the specific model you have... Some socket 478 HSFs are compatible with Socket A, etc.
