How to set Window Security Center as default (eg vs Mcafee Sec Ctr as default)?

The problem seems to be that (one of) my spyware scanners (Spybot) comes up with the below alert and the direction is that it is because the Windows Security Center is not the default.
But, Ive run 'services.msc' and the Security Center setting shows 'automatic' already set, which I assume means that Window Security Center is the default.
Are there registry setting/s that need to be reset, and/or how else can/should I make sure that Window Security Center is set as the default?

It is not related to whether the service is running. It has to do with whether you have allow something else to be your default security center and a firewall. For example, do you use a Symantec or McAfee product and are they your security center.

    Thats a good question.
Im not sure how to tell, and if McAfee is set as the security center Im not sure how to change it/unset it... Ive asked the question at the McAfee but no help.
    Any ideas?

There seems to be no way to get an answer to the question of 'How to set/reset McAfee to not be the default security center?'.
Why would/should that be such a secret?

It does not really matter anyway. This is really a non-issue. Spybot is just giving you a heads up that it is not set to the default. You can either disable this feature in Spybot or ignore the messages. Another alternative may be to renable Windows Security Center.

I guess I understand your opinion, but if its such a non-issue then why is it so impossible to get the answer to the simple question, 'How to set/reset McAfee to not be the default security center?'.
It is not possible to re-enable WSC because McAfee resets it back.
Please consider the following from another discussion forum...

If you don't allow the McAfee Security Center to be the default Security Center the advantages are:
-You have two processes that monitor if your firewall and antivirus are active and that Windows update is turned on. If one were to be disabled the other should alert you.
-If you decide to no longer use McAfee you haven't disrupted the protection afforded by the Windows Security Center.
-You don’t have to either ignore Spybot’s detections or disable them so you would be alerted to the fact that something changed the settings.
    Disadvantage according to McAfee:
-"However, letting both SecurityCenters run on your computer might result in duplicate status messaging." This isn’t a disadvantage if you are running a recognized firewall and antivirus and have Windows update is turned on because you won't get any alerts unless there is a problem.

This is not a question for me to answer. Not allowing the end user to set options as they see fit just makes me say "It is a poorly designed interface by McAfee" and it is their problem and question to answer. Their response would probably be something like "they need it to work this way to provide maximum security".

You can always choose not to use McAfee and get rid of the problem. (Maybe you should tell them that if they cannot fix the problem, you will return their program and you want a refund.) But if you ever decide to disable Windows Security Center (and many do because they don't like the popups), you will still get warning from Spybot.

    I appreciate the reply.
It appears from all Ive heard here and at other forums that it is not possible to re-set McAfee to not be the default security center... at least not by normal means or without re-installing.
Well, its been fun trying to get an answer.

You're welcome! Sometime this is the kind of price you pay for protection. You need to live with how the set things up and with all the tons of programs they install and run eating up valuable system resources.
