resource dll error (1-287)?

    i ran everything you said to and my computer seems to be running better. Desktop background is back and virus pop up gone. However, now everytime i start up computer it says under a Sony application box? (which i have HP so dont know what that means) Resource dll error 1-287. I click it off and it doesn't come back......I still get pop ups alot and most of them say i have spyware on comp but everything looks ok? what is this dll thing and do u want to see HJT? Thanks

    ok then show me how to get back to thread because it never works? But to answer your question. "no" the other thread gave me no help i had to do system restore to eliminate things. So this is like a new thing occurring

    Looks to me like you got back to that thread just fine. And a System Restore was not necessary. All you had to do was follow all the steps in the READ ME FIRST and then post a follow up HJT log and we probably could have resolved your problems.

    However I would have to assume you did not follow the steps in the READ ME FIRST because the first step in it is to Disable System Restore which removes all restore points. This means there would be no System Restore to restore from.

    Also based on the HJT log posted in that thread, you still have not run ALL the steps in the READ ME FIRST.

    By the way you are running some Sony software on your PC and it more than likely got messed up when you did a System Restore. But D3 and you can work that out in your previous thread.

    Thanks.....I will wait for him to reply.......By the way I guess maybe it wasn't a sytem restore then because I used system recovery disks from manufacture to reboot entire system no restore points were used I used disks. I'll wait for other help

    That's correct that would not be a System Restore. That is a reinstall to factory ship configuration.
