If there is anyone else who gets fascinated by weather then check this out. Usually we see "red" on a doppler when it's really bad, but this one has some pink in it.

I wouldn't want to be in this one.

    I've always hated pink.

Does the US have a natural disaster on a monthly basis or something?

I've never seen a continent that has such varied and dramatic weather.

Not sure if they do or not. I tell you from this past hurricane season we have the worst weather. I mean it's January and we have been in the 70's & 80's, it's horrible.

    I WANT SNOW!!!!! :D:D

Ever watch a dog try to move in 4 feet of snow.........? HaHa
    not just USA I'm afraid

It's all that Spanish guys fault, El Nino.

The weather here has been strange the last few years.

I hate to see what it's going to be like in the next few!

According to the weather channel we are starting "La Niña". Basically means this hurricane season we will get pounded again. :(

First the Spanish guy, and now a Senorita.

The only weather extreme we get here is the merciless heat! Highest so far was 44 C (111 F) on New Years Day.

So much for Happy New Year.

Ouch! That's hottt, the hottest we've had lately was 80 I think. During the summer months it will get around 100 especially thru June and July.

The weather channel predicts feb. & march to be below average so we will see.

I'd rather the heat though than what you guys have to put up with.

I was just looking at Alabamas' temperature extremes, and talk about extreme!

    Anything from -27 F to 112 F!

Nah! I love the extremes. All those years of wet and windy, middle of the road England make me appreciate having real seasons once again :)

    Wet wouldn't be that bad.

It hardly rains here, and we have been going through a drought for years. We even have permanent water restrictions.

For example, you can't use a hose to wash your car (bucket only), and can only water your garden between certain hours etc.

That's the excuse I use for not showering. :)

I don't know how they grow food in this country.

That would get old year round, it changes here all the time. One week it will be in the 30s and the next it will be in the 80s.

I'm ready to start fishing, but it will not quit raining!!! When we do get a clear days its in the 40s and that's a little cold for me to fish in.

believe me it doesn't. we do have 'seasons', they're just difficult to spot lol. its whale season at the moment. awesome. and although the forcast for each day is much the same, the weather is actually very varied. and often spectacular. and coming from england to live in a place where every day is like the perfect english summers day puts a smile on my face each morning.

I wish out weather went with our seasons, this year was the warmest hunting season ever.

We actually wore short sleeve shirts hunting. The last hunting day of the season I think it was like 60' outside. Normally it's in the 30s, but not this year.

There were fewer deer killed this season than I can ever remember.

I just turned the computer back on, it got real bad here for a minute. We had quarter size hail for about 5 minutes.

We just had some quarter-sized hail here too, but when you factor in inflation, it was really only dime-sized hail.

For the past few days it's been gloomy...but Thursday and Friday we had severe thunderstorm warnings and some tornado watches/warnings. I love the dark weather, it's a nice change from the bright sun.

I know that my mom and dad just went down to New Orleans this last thursday, to work for the red cross, and the day after they got there...there was supposedly a tornado on the outskirts of town...fortunately they were on the far opposite side of town!!

But...I guess, atleast the REd Cross is already there...trying to find the bright side of something!!

Here in the south, pink is most severe, we get sleet/snow about every 10 years for real.

It's been in the 70s so sleet/snow is out of the question here, I wish it would.

Grey and blah. Not really raining, no where near snowing. News keeps tossing the threat around that it may snow (I think it is more to remind us it is still winter). Overall a very mild winter. Only one snow storm that amounted to a couple of inches. Having lived in San Antonio, El Paso, Fort Jackson SC, Germany, Florida, and Pennsylvania, I would have to say that Pennsylvania actually has the nicest "weather". Definite seasons, at least until recently. :)

Very different to two days ago....woke up to sub-zero temperatures with a thick layer of ice on the windshield. Amazing how light it is in the mornings now when I leave home, when there isn't a thick cloud layer above :D
