Is there a way to "scan" a link to a website or page to see if it is a "threat"?

Can you scan a link to see if the page it directs to has any virus's or threats? Thanks.

There are some tools you can use.

First is WOT if you don't use it. It gives you a decent indication on whether a site is safe. Its an addon for your browser. Just download for whichever one you use: https://www.mywot.com/en/download Green circle means good, Red means you probably shouldn't go onto the site. Yellow...proceed with caution

Another thing you can do is go here: https://www.virustotal.com/
-Select URL and paste the site address on there. It'll list a number scanners and if they come up clean.
