Guild Wars - who got it?

OK, i talked trash about it, shot it down etc... I bit the bullet! waiting to get out of this class so i can go play it @ home! I made a RNG/ELE (air ele) and my friend made a Ele/rng (fire ele), pretty sweet so far but only played about 30mins~ of it.

 

I've been playing since the first event and am sooooooooooo happy its finally out and whatever I do to my character is permanent. I have a pure ranger (until I figure out a secondary, most likely monk or warrior since rangers can use swords) right now, been playing my ranger for so long I was overjoyed to find out the special weapon I recieved was a bow.

Level 7, done all but one quest in the beginning area as far as I can figure out and as decked as I can be with only turn in armor. Anyway, if any of you are playing feel free to drop me a tell my ranger is Donner Party Of One (lets just say I didn't expect to love rangers so I chose a weird ass name).

 

Question for you then; if I use the ithas bow w/my ranger and i still dont have the Required statas for it (10 marksmanship) what hpns to the dmg it does?

 

I'm pretty sure it goes up as your skill goes up. So, if you have marksmanship 5 your damage should be half the max. However, there are plenty of bows out there with decent damage which don't have the requirement so find yourself one of those. I got a nice bow which has the same damage as the Ithas but it gives me 1 energy for each time I hit something, haven't run out of mana since.

 

I'm A Ranger also and i must say nice pick, b/c rangers kick the most ass lol, also.. for a secound pro.. think about ME.. if you think you can handle it.. thats what i am lvl 12 R/ME
you just got to be smart and very picky with the ME skills...but i can solo everything upto and around Yak's i wanna get to the volcano, but the rangers burst speed needs a boost =)
so i am takin my time with the game and doing missions "tryin to have fun play the game lol" also done with all the mission up till Yaks.. so if any good Monks, or W/MO out there wanna team up.. i'm more then rdy to go

I'm a Mesmer with an elemental secondary. Pretty happy with the game thusfar.

 

Ranger/Monk lvl 7
Warrior/Ranger lvl 7
Mesmer/Necromancer lvl 6

I've been splitting my time between too many characters.

btw, while I'm here, does anyone know where to get charcoal?

 

Why do you need charcoal at Lv6-7? I thought that was a higher end item?

 

How do you know what all of these items do or are used for? I'm running into the problem that I'm sure everyone else is: more pick ups than space in the inventory, which is a pain... I'm looking for ways to get the other packs so if you have any clues, let me know! I do know that you can get a 5 slot pouch by collecting "5 worn belts."

 

Pre searing you can do a quest for a pouch and post searing you can buy two 5 slot bags.

Also, I need charcoal for armor. My warrior is going all axe skills and there is a really nice helmet I can get which adds a skill level to my axe abilities. Need charcoal to make a steel ingot which goes into the helmet.

 

Right outside of Ascalon City, take a left and talk to the collector there. He will give you a 5 slot pouch for 5 Skale Fins. Easy as pie to collect as the Skales are in the river nearby.

I am playing but have not settled on one class yet, they all have nice features.

 

you can also buy a 400G scroll that expands your inventory from 5 slots to 10.

 

Stack up the items; they go well beyond 50+ if you have redundant items (cloth/sticks/leather squares) then go to a MATERIAL TRADER; and sell em stacks of 10; you make TONS of money like that.

 

A week later of playing, and I'm really enjoying this game. Didn't think anything was going to tear me away from HL2-DM, but it did! Getting a little old seeing all the naked people dancing, but oh well.

 

Im bout half way through Lv17; save up your money because the final armor costs 1.5Silver a piece (1500gp). Also its a good idea to collect the items the collectors want you to get for the free gear.

 

Definitely taking my sweet ol' time with this game and just enjoying it. Gotta kill some time until the expansions right..

 

Its not about running to level 20; after you reach level 20 the game doesn't end; the story line is huge. That cap is there so there is no mass grinding and the likes.

Hi, I just started playing this game. Its great! But it crashes too much. I think I need to update it, but I don't know how to??

 

It autoupdates, automatically . Give more details about your specs and crashes and maybe we can figure something out.

 

Is Guild Wars like Morrowind?????

 

Not really. Some graphics are similar though.

 

I have Pentium 4 3GHZ Prescott, 1GB RAM, Asus p4p800S SE motherboard and a Nvidia Geforce 6600GT graphics card. I think the latter might be the problem, looking on other forums, but no one seems to know any fixes. I have changed the AGP aperture from 64mb to 256 mb like someone suggested and have stopped overclocking to the cpu from 3.3ghz back to 3ghz, plus I've opened the side of th case and stuck a house fan next to it blowing in, as suggested by the makers of the game (I always thought this was a bad idea).

 

208 hours 26 minutes 32 days.

I've been unemployed for almost a month and don't start my new job for another 1 1/2 weeks.

The game is awesome!

just picked up the book today. Don't really need it but there is a ton of useful info.

one more thing. the game hasn't crashed once and runs flawless on my rig. (my rig is pretty plain)
