    Hi!

I'm just curious about any members who may have heard, or are currently taking green tea extract pills.

I've read on the internet that green tea is beneficial to your health, but I don't care much for tea. That's why I'm inquiring about the pill form. After asking 2 pharmacists about green tea, they refuse to comment about anything positive/negative. Any comments about this topic is greatly appriciated, thanks!
    :)

Tried Green Tea? I love it and drink it like a drug. Aint getting any healthier, probably have a heart attack from the caffeeine. Tazo China Green tips. Theres another tea that should have similar benefits, though they claim it has more benefits then green tea as well as weight loss potential. My wife says the weight loss thing didnt work for her ;) It also is supposed to have a similar buzz as coffee, except that it comes on slower and comes down slower, so there is no "caffeine rush and carsh".

Anectodal evidence is always less than helpful, but I've got an uncle that was supposed to be dead from bone cancer 2 years ago, and while he's given up on chemotherapy, which wiped him out pretty badly, he's still chugging along with healthy diet, vitamins, and green tea extract. But real evidence is NOT in, although the proponents of it say it does wonderful things. (shrug) Best thing I can positively say is that it's not likely to hurt you. ;)

i am suspicious of anything in tablet form. very often the processing destroys the very properties your buying them for. as a general rule any tea has anti-toxins, green more than black. my advice would be to experiment with different teas until you find one you like. try adding a tsp of honey instead of sugar. try to keep your diet as varied as possible. try to eat things that are unprocessed (raw sugar as opposed to the bleached white, same for bread, etc.) chocolate also has anti oxidant, but again try the unprocessed cocoa such as Ghirardelli, as drinks like nesquick contain everything but chocolate. by and large, organic foods are too expensive for most families to eat, but try to get the organic food that you eat the most. (eg. milk and/or eggs). at least you are thinking about what you are putting in your body, and that is the most important step to healthy eating, not all the fancy, expensive, and mostly pointless tablets that are advertised endlessly. aloha

Mmmm, green tea. For some reason I tend to drink it after chineese food. Though jasmine tea is better for that - gets rid of the oil left in your mouth after a bowl full of noodles ;)

I'm with laurie on this one: the "processing" probably does more harm than good. If it's in tablet form it must have at some point been re-crystalised or changed in some way, eliminating the majority of the ingredients.

I guess it depends on your idea of what bit of the tea is good for you.
