I can't find a thread that helps with this
    so here it goes
    so I didn't do a damn thing

I turned off my modem, went and did some random ****
came back, turned on the modem, the computer woke up(this has been done 3-10x a day),
but when my computer wakes up, it asks me to LOG IN

It has never done this, it usually wakes up and I can get back to whatever I was doing

now it has the USER NAME already filled in as "administator" and asks for a password
    WHAT THE HELL?>

So I type in some passwords

    nothing

I go to RESTORE, I get a choice
    of
    miniNT
    I386
    Windows
I pick WINDOWS and and the restore feature asks for a password
I got nothing because I don't use a password, cause I'll forget it and this **** happens

so I think,BR.com can help me slim down, tone up and restore my computer
so I break out my lap top
unplug my ethetnet cord from my desktop, plug it into my laptop
log on, realize it's been 3 years since I've used this thing
    and yes!
    my internet won't connect
I unplug the internet, bask my computer against my head a few times
plug it back in,call my internet provider, spend 130 talking to some one to help me
Im back on this site in 10minutes, hoping someone can help me!

oh yeah, my desktop is next to me(windows XP, with the LOG ON to windows screen in my face withthe
    USER NAME: Administator
    Password:

    ANYONE!!

    HI and welcome

This may be an issue for the software forum, or if you haven't turned the computer on in 3 years you may want to get it checked out for malware.

    Best of luck :wave

Try not typing in a password. Just leave it blank with the Username as Administrator and hit Enter.

thanks I've tried that and also tried ALT-TAB to see if I could get around it,nothing,
Thats why I booted up this laptop, thats what I havent used in years, and I was told by someone that he had this happen and to come here and seek a solution becuase the same thing happened to him and he had no idea what he did, but he knows I have a malware infection.
On the infected computer, I scan with ad-ware" daily, minimum, which is also why I turn off the modem when I am not around, so I reduce the chances of something like this happening.

    Welcome to MajorGeeks, watchntv

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking?

I don't know what safe mode with networking is

is this a login window with the ok and cancel buttons? If it is, try clicking cancel.

the cancel is faded out and not an optionI can hit
    Ok
    shut down
options->when hit just makes the shut down option disappear

Restart the computer and try Cntrl + Alt + Delete twice. Do you get the Welcome screen? What user names appear?

I used my laptop, that's what I am on now
    I know what happened.

I went to control panel, changed how you log on/off so that I wouldnt need to do a damn thing(no one else uses my computer)
that's why when I came back and started it up again, it was stuck at the log in prompt saying,"ADMINSTATOR"(however you spell it)
I did all what i said I did
so the same thing happened with my laptop
but instead of ADMINITOR it said OWNED
and it allowed me to hit enter(no password) and be back in my computer
I rebooted(damn this scroll pad is annoying me,my screen keeps moving)_
    I typed oin OWNER
    and hit return
    and I fixed it!!

    how do I thank myself?
