Oddly named inaccessable folders malware?

Hi there,

I would be really grateful for anyone's help with this issue.

There are lots of oddly named folders on my external hard drive, none of which can be opened, and one of which is called RECYCLER, which I understand to be Malware. The names of these folders are shown at the end of this message.

I haven't got any problems as such, except that my work computer, on which I frequently use my hard drive, is glitchier than those of my colleagues. For example, when the WIFI connection fails, the whole computer irrevocably freezes. In fact, irrevocable freezing is the most common problem presented by my work computer. I do not have this problem on my home computer.

My computer is a Lenovo, 64-bit, 4GB RAM, 2.13GHz, Intel Pentium, CPU P6200, which runs Windows 7. I do not currently have the specifications of my work computer to hand, but I can provide them as necessary.
