restart

hi guys, just built a rig from old pieces all tested and working in other machines, trying to install windows 2000 on it and gets to starting windows 2000 setup and restarts, does the same with xp, and really killing me now, please help

 

What troubleshooting steps have you already tried? Could you give a bit more info on your rig. Specifically, what is the motherboard model.

I suggest you first unplug all unnecessary devices before installation (only have video card, RAM, CDROM, and Hard drive). If you have already done that, I suggest updating the BIOS on the motherboard. If you give me the motherboard model, I can help you more and give more specific advice.

 

hey first of all thanks for replying, now first thintgs thirs its a bio-star m7vkd. i have 4 different sticks of pc133 256md ram tried them all indivually in my server machine and work perfect, i have still got the problem of re-starting but now i get this message, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL looked on the net and it says it could be the cpu or ra but they both fine please help if ya can
