Really possible to replace Windows Explorer with a third party program?

  1. I've come across mentions of this but haven't really looked into it. How far can such replacement go?

    Please tell me about specific programs.

    Q-Dir is on Majorgeeks file list today. Labeled 'HOT'. Used it for years. Doesn't replace Windows Explorer but has more options and more viewing choices.

    Windows Explorer can not be removed. It is too deeply embedded in the OS. So replacement is impossible but there are 3rd party programs you can use when you want to navigate the file system.
    I've used Explorer++ in the past. https://explorerplusplus.com/
