www.grisoft.com VS free.grisoft.com

    Hi,
    I'm new to this site and I searched but couldn't find anything on this topic. The link in the MG cleaning procedure has you download a 30 day trail of AVG Anti Spyware from www.grisoft.com. But on the free.grisoft.com site there is a free version that has AVG Anti Spyware (without some of the other functions). Is the free.grisoft.com site legitimate? Why would they have a second site like that with no link to it on the www.grisoft.com site? I previously downloaded the free version of anti-spyware from the free site, but now I'm concerned that it is not a legitimate site and that I downloaded some rogue software. My two questions are:

    1) Is free.grisoft.com a legitimate site?

    2) If so could folks download the free permanent version of AVG Anti Spyware instead of the 30 day trial of the full version?

    This is a great site! Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Yes!

    There is no free full version. If you want full features after the trial period has ended, you must buy it otherwise it becomes a scan only tool that offers no active protection. It is thus just an after the fact scanner. You can use the free version as a scanner for as long as you want.
