    I'm going from:

    XP3200+
    XFX nForce 2 motherboard
    1GB of generic Infinity ram
    Leadtek 6800nu

    TO

    AMD64 3700+
    ASUS A8N-E nForce4 Ultra motherboard
    2GB Geil Ram
    XFX 7900 GT

I'm keeping my current hard drives until I have enough funds to pick up two nice SATA drives. Now, I had just reinstalled windows not too long ago, and I really don't feel like doing it again until I get new drives. If I un-installed my nvidia drivers before I disconnected everything, and put it all back together with the new hardware, I should be ok after I install the newest drivers for my new board and vid card, right?

And how much of a performance hit am I looking at by keeping my ATA133 drives for now over a SATA3.0 drive, or possibly a raid setup?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Peace

When I tried something like that it would not allow me because of the different mother boards.

Then consider doing a clean install when you see the mess it makes.

    Repair installs are the devil.

Of course, MS will not tell you that.

Alright, thanks for the replies. Looks like I will have just have to reinstall. My parts don't come in till Monday so I have some time to back up my stuff.

Now what about performance differences between an ata133 drive and a sata 3.0gbs drive? Am I hurting my system by keeping the ata133 drives for now?
