Does Zonealarm still have a free version?

I am new, don't even know the appropriate thread to put this question in. :-o
I have downloaded and had to uninstall ZoneAlarm three times now. It keeps telling me there is a critical update, but when I download and install the program it turns out to be a 15-day trial and I have to take it off.
If it is no longer free, which firewall should I try instead?

you don't need to download and install another program, they just want you to get their paid version, any updates should be done within the program.

they consider the features you get with the paid version as critical, but it works just fine without them..

 

Thank you. I have really come to the right place for help. Will have to browse the categories and learn more. Didn't notice the forums until today, but depend on Major Geeks for clean downloads and easily read listings. Thanks again.
