One knows this problem, especially as developers / beta tester: When a program freezes,than you call the task manager CTRL+ALT+DEL , and find that frozen program then you have to find and select the option "End Process", and finally you have to confirm the message, "Are you sure you want to terminate the process" with "yes". One can save many hand moves and also time !
Now it´s easier then ever!
ProcessKO is a small useful tool to quickly kill a running or hanging process / program. It is not uncommon among developers or program-testers that the programs do not function properly or that you can not even close the programs (using the Task Manager) usually its always the same candidates.

World's most sophisticated rootkit is being overhauled

ESET researchers have been tracking the TDL4 botnet for a long time, and now we have noticed a new phase in its evolution. Based on the analysis of its components we can say that some of those components have been rewritten from scratch (kernel-mode driver, user-mode payload) while some (specifically, some bootkit components) remain the same as in the previous versions. These changes might suggest one of the following: either the team developing the botnet has been changed, or TDL4 developers have started selling a bootkit builder to other cybercrime groups.

The dropper (Win32/Olmasco.R) that we have analyzed sends copious tracing information to the C&C (Command & Control server) during the installation of the rootkit onto the system. In the event of any error, it sends a comprehensive error message which gives the malware developers enough information to determine the cause of the fault. All this suggests that this bot is still under development...

Microsofts Windows Media Center application has returned to Windows 8 in the latest pre-beta builds of the operating system.
Media Center has been spotted inside build 8141.0.winmain.111021 of Windows 8 and appears to be a standalone desktop application. Users at the MDL forums managed to secure early access to build 8141 and have revealed that the pre-beta copy includes Start Screen Metro app zoom features, changeable metro background color and other Start Screen tweaks.

Windows Media Center, Windows 7 games, DVD creator, upgrade setup and .NET 3.5 all missed the first developer preview build of Windows 8. Symantec Announces October 2011 Symantec Intelligence Report; Spammers operates spam-friendly URL-shortening services using free, open-source software

Symantec Intelligence reported earlier this year that spammers had set up their own URL shortening services to better conceal their spam sites and make them harder to block. This month’s analysis indicates that a spam gang with at least 80 URL shortening sites have been operating, all using a similar naming pattern, and used the .info top-level domain. However, unlike the URL shortening sites uncovered earlier this year, these sites are effectively public URL shortening sites. Anyone can create a shortened URL on these sites; the form to do so is also publically available

“Spammers are using a free, open source URL shortening scripts to operate these sites. After creating many shortened URLs with their own service, the spammers then send spam including these URLs. These particular spammers use subjects designed to attract attention, like "It's a long time since I saw you last!", "It's a good thing you came" and so on. This is a common social engineering tactic, and is designed to arouse curiosity, particularly if they have a false sense of security around the safety of shortened links” said Paul Wood, Senior Intelligence Analyst, Symantec.cloud.

“It is possible that spammers are setting up their own URL shortening sites since legitimate URL shortening sites, which have long suffered with abuse, have slightly improved their detection of spam and other malicious URLs. It's not fully clear why the sites are public. Perhaps this is simply due to laziness on the spammers' part, or perhaps an attempt to make the site seem more legitimate,” Wood said.
