vista drivers

    help!!! i have just bought a dell dimension e520 and subsequently discovered that a thompson speedtouch 330 modem doesnt support vista o/s. does anybody know where i can download this as i have a nice new computer with no bl**dy internet access!!!! seems a bit pointless and very lonely without the net!! help me please oh great ones!!!confused

    Easy search of the 'net resulted in that drivers are supposed to be out this month. Reports say that some users have found success in using the 64bit drivers.

    Edit: may be wise to also right click the setup.exe file and choose "run as administrator" as this elevates the application to full admin rights, tends to help get drivers installed in Vista until fully compatible ones are released

    um... I've just installed one of these. The xp drivers worked once, once someone unplugged the modem and replugged it in again I just couldn't get them to install a second time no matter what I tried.

    I spoke to tech support and am still waiting for the CD of these, will try the download and report back!

    Good luck with that and if it works please let me know. i am thinking it would be easier in the long run to get an ADSL router off of ebay - they are pretty cheap!!!:) :)

    Hi did you nto get any of the drivers to work? did you when installing then right click the setup.exe and choose Run as Administrator as that seems to work with installing many drivers, but the ones now from Thompson should be Vista compat.

    But I never liked USB modems and have always prefered an ADSL Modem/router/Wireless for connection to the net, much easier.

    Tried everything now!!! nothing works so i am going to get a wireless router or ADSL. can any body suggest a good make or model and what should i look for, you may have guessed but i'm new at this game. for anybody who is interested, the vista driver wont be out till mid april and not guaranteed to work (according to tech support at thompson).confused
