Hi I am new to the forum so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I am not in the least bit computer savvy so bear with me!

I have an Acer Aspire laptop that has stated turning itself off. Also I cannot open a jpeg file by double clicking on it, I have to right click the file and click 'open with'. I think the problem may be two missing dll files. Two error windows come up when I turn on the laptop saying these files cannot be found.

    agodowuraf.dll and lapdr32.dll

I have googled both the names to try and replace them but nothing comes up.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Greetings, Parmesan.

Do you have your Windows Vista disk? If so, try the following:

    Thanks for the responses.

First I do not have the Visa disk, the laptop came with it already uploaded.

I will try the second solution when I have backed up my personal files and let you know how I get one.

    Thanks again :)

    Little bit of progress

Downloaded CCleaner which I used to have on the pc but didn't add to the laptop.

After running CCleaner and cleaning the Registry I restarted the laptop and the error message for agodowuraf.dll does not now appear. Just need to sort the other one out now!:)

That could be a symptom that the laptop is overheating. How do you cool it?

actually it does get very hot, and my first guess was that is what is turning it off.

I thought it was supposed to cool itself, isn't there a fan?

Still got the prob with one dll file missing though but I haven't finished going through the process yet.

Just be sure to finish the malware removal procedures, and create a new thread in the malware removal forum, where you will attach all of the requested logs.

C:\Windows\system32\profapi.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

does this message means that computer is also infected?

No. You should start a thread of your own to save confusion of mixing yours up with the OP's. :)
