    Hello again.

After getting my computer squared away, my wife's laptop has the same issue that mine had: Yahoo e-mail pages get redirected to the Dell/Google search page titled, "Sorry, we couldn't find "http://ad.yieldmanager.com/st%3Fad_type".

Initially, when I was doing the READ & RUN, I tried to run CCleaner in Safe Mode, but "it" wouldn't let me. Despite typing in her password correctly, we couldn't get into Safe Mode, but Normal boot was ok. Then I royally goofed up and used msconfig to force it into Safe Mode, which then made the computer stuck at the login. She took it to her job's IT guy and he "fixed" it, but then the browser redirect came back.

So, ran through the READ & RUN again, didn't try forcing Safe Mode again. After going through it, there's now a problem with Symantec. When I delete a file, the Windows Installer for Symantec pops up and then does nothing. When I go into "Programs" in the Start Menu and try to open Symantec, I get a message stating, "An error occurred while loading savrt32.dll"

Here are the logs, 4th to follow...

Thank Dell for this problem! ;) Just uninstall this URL Assistant and then tell me if you are still having problems.

Based on your logs, nothing at all was removed. Thus nothing from Symantec was touched. However if you ran the READ & RUN ME more than once ( which we clearly stated not to do ) then we don't know what was removed the first time if your logs are from the second time.

The easiest fix for Symantec may be to uninstall it and then reinstalled. You should use the below to uninstall it:

Please run the below then reboot. After reboot run it one more time.

    Norton Removal Tool (SymNRT)

URL assistant was uninstalled, and thus far, no further glitches.

As for running it more than once, I never got a chance to run it at all. I tried to run CCleaner in Safe Mode and had to stop there when I made things worse. The same thing happened to me with my Symantec AV version.

She can't get it back to the IT dude until Monday to have the anti-virus re-installed. Should we just leave as is until Sunday PM or go ahead and get rid of it?

If it is not working, it does not matter if you uninstall. Is it working?
