I have done some research and I understand that it is possible to block ad.doubleclick.net using the Host file. However, all the instructions seem vague (to say the least!). This being the best geek forum that there is, can someone give clear instructions as how to do this- keep in mind that I am technically challenged. My OS is XP Home Edition. BTW, I have run Spybot, virus scanners, etc. There is no pest problem. That is why I am posting this here, as I figure that it is an OS question. OH yeah, my hosts file says "placed here by Spybot" (or something like that). Apparently, everything in there has been placed there by Spybot. Shouldn't it also say something like "local hosts", or maybe something else?
