Browser Hijack?

I was first alerted to a problem when HughesNet slowed down our internet connection because we had exceede their Fair Access Policy, which in our case means means more than 350Mb per day. Their usage chart showed large amounts of data being downloaded each hour (from 50-100MB).
We run a small network of 3 computers of which only two are used daily. they all have 3 browsers installed. IE, Mozilla firefox and google chrome. when chrome came out I began to use it as our preferred browser because of their claims for security. IE was only used when some online secure sites such as banking did not work with Google Chrome.
Before going through your Readme I had AVG Free and Spyware doctor free edition and occasionally ran Spybot search and Destroy. since then I have a full edition of Spyware doctor with antivirus and have uninstalled AVG Free.
Having run all five program yesterday this morning during the first three hours the computer was connected the Hughes usage stats say we have downloaded 220Mb of data.
