Trouble Downloading Torrents

Partway through my .torrent downloads using utorrent, windows does a "crash dump" and needs to restart. How serious is this, and is there any way to prevent this from happening?

 

Try using a different version of uTorrent. When you uninstall the current one, it leaves settings and a record of all your downloads in %drive%\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\uTorrent. Unless you need to keep your current settings when you reinstall, it's recommended that you delete or empty this folder. You need to enable viewing of hidden and system files and folders to see the AppData folder. I have also provided some links below that you should read before removing uTorrent as they may have a fix for you. A visit to the uTorrent site and forums is a good idea too.

Thanks! One of the links pointed out a common problem with the NVIDIA firewall. I set my affinity for utorrent to 1 cpu, and that seemed to do the trick.

i would like to make sure i wipe those files off of my pc .. so how and where do i find those folders?

 

If you're referring to the uTorrent settings folder that I mentioned above, I also mentioned in that same post exactly where the folder is, and how to view it. But here it is again:

%drive% is your main system drive, usually C: and %username% is, you guessed it, the user name under which the program was installed and used.
