    Hey Guys,

    i've been having alot of problems with my netbook in the past wk,

    i'v always had spyware doctor running on it, i have found it a good program and up until now i have never had any problems with virus', etc.

    until this wk, when i seemed to have picked up something called ramnit, spyware doctor flagged it up alot, so i updated the program and ran a full scan, it found over 900 presences of the virus, and after hitting the fix button my netbook seemed in a worse state than ever, not allowing me to load webpages(tho msn was working), and also freezing on the welcome page alot when i restarted my machine.

    i ran a second full scan the following day and found over 600 presences of the virus and i then used my iphone to search the net and found your site.

    i have read through and followed the read me for malware removal and this seems to have greatly improved the situation, it is now allowing me to view webpages again, and i have the 5 logs generated by the programs that you have asked me to run, which i have uploaded,

    my specs are as follows

    Asus eee pc, 1000H
    windows xp 32 bit
    1gb ram.

    where should i proceed from here? i want to make sure that i have shifted this completely, i thought i should also add that i often use a portable hard drive, could this bug be hiding here also, and i am concerned about the freezing problem on the windows welcome screen.

    Why am I not seeing any anti-virus software on this system?

    Do you know what these are:
    c:\program files\aws
    c:\program files\aw1
    c:\program files\ses
    c:\program files\aw
    c:\program files\sys5
    c:\program files\sys4
    c:\program files\sys2
    If not, we will remove them.

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    File::
    C:\Program Files\ses\seta.exe
    c:\program files\microsoft\desktoplayer.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\Kevin\Local Settings\temp\dwm.exe

    Folder::
    c:\program files\aws
    c:\program files\aw1
    c:\program files\ses
    c:\program files\aw
    c:\program files\sys5
    c:\program files\sys4
    c:\program files\sys2
    C:\Documents and Settings\Kevin\Local Settings\Application Data\oxtpmnpbx
    c:\documents and settings\Kevin\Application Data\Xeuzpu
    c:\documents and settings\Kevin\Application Data\Ibiw
    c:\documents and settings\Kevin\Application Data\Efop
    c:\documents and settings\Kevin\Application Data\Voqouc
    c:\documents and settings\Kevin\Application Data\Puor
    c:\documents and settings\Kevin\Application Data\Ifyho
    c:\documents and settings\Kevin\Application Data\Argiu
    C:\Documents and Settings\Kevin\Application Data\Yfla

    Registry::
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "{8C82461A-0539-D455-864F-32BE5617487F}"=-

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentVersion\Run]
    "svchost"=-
    "nonep"=-

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon]
    "Userinit"="c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe,"

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    [IMG]
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now let's have you do an online scan with eSet. Run it once, save the log and then immediately run it again. Attach both logs.
    eSet Online Scan.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    * Both eSet logs.
    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!
