My Laptop is turning off randomly!!!!

    As i Said My laptop is just randomly turning off in fact i better make this short because it might just do it in a sec. It will usually occure when multitasking such as Lime wire, Yahoo IM, WMP 11, and Explorer. It never used to do this but up untill may a month ago. nothing really happens and its not a Blue screen, the cooling fans just stop and everything goes off! please help me im Tech ignorant and need lots of help! I can Follow instructions very well i just need some


    PS after my friend Turned it on in safe mode my moniter, from my old desktop, Color has been all funky like it doesnt have all the colors in it but when i watch videos they fine?!?!

    i have a Compaq Presario R3000 with a HP Moniter and i use it cuz my laptop's moniter isnt working(although it has briefly when succsesfully run Norton and More rare Ad-Aware

    I doubt this is malware ...it sounds more like a power supply issue ....have you cleaned out the case? Do you have a spare power supply to test?

    Oh Well No i havent Really Cleaned it like real hard and i had to get a new AC charger since the one with it broke and the new one i got hasnt since i got it work too well... I have to before plugging in the pc and just booting i have to let the charger "charge" ,not that its supposed to, and then boot up if i dont the light on the charger fades and the pc stops booting up and turns off. Im Glad it aint a Real Virus Tho

    This is a laptop? And it will not run off the AC ...only the battery once charged?

    This is probably your problem, then.:(

    No, no its the charger i have to recharge or charge up be4 booting up my pc. The Laptop Battery is fine although it doesnt run very long on it

    Then I am confused...are you saying that you got a replacement AC adapter and it doesn't work to run the laptop, only to charge the battery?

    it will run my laptop and charge it, only after i have let the Charger charge up. i plug in the charger to the wall let it be for a couple of hours and plug it in my laptop and then turn my laptop on if i do not let the charger charge the blue LED on the charger will fade and i soon have no power

    Then you definitely have a hardware problem ...which would best be addressed in the hardware forum. :)
