    Hi All

I just bought an external hard drive after running out of space. I transfered all my Video, Music & Pics to it and freed up about 80Gb. The problem is, i still have 100GB on my C drive an after searching all even cannot find what is taking up all this space??

I've made sure everything i've transfered to my external is deketd from my C drive.

Can anyone suggest how i should approach this? or offer any suggestions as to what this might be? Is there a way i can view all the files on my c drive and sort them by size? (i've tryed this in explorer but it does not sirt them?)

    Thanks for your help

    My OS is XP Pro

splitt3r You are now the victim of a drive by title change

100gb for WoW and ares? that is strange, wow takes up around 5gb I don't even know what ares is though. must be a 90+gb program:eek:

Ares is a P2P program like Limewire, etc. I'm willing to bet it's "incomplete" folder was the culprit...it allocates the full disk space for a file even if you haven't actually downloaded any part of it yet...so it'll show a 100MB video file, even if you haven't been able to connect & download any part of it, for example.

Yes, clever people can use P2P to stash files (including copyrighted ones that are illegal to share) on your drive (w/o your knowledge) so your disk space and bandwidth gets burned instead of theirs by others looking to DL those files. Be VERY wary about ANY P2P or file "sharing" software!!
