Slow laptop driving me mad

Hi I wonder if anyone can help

My laptop has got slower and slower and its driving me mad . I have 500gb hardrive and have many photos and videos . Is there a free program that will find and move all my photos to one folder or sort them out .

Also i want to remove all the programs i dont use and run a free anti virus and malware checkers but have no idea of the best ones or how to go about it

Any help would be appreciated thanks

 

What version of Windows? What is the brand and model of the laptop? What antivirus, malware detector and firewall are you currently using? Have you defragged the computer lately?

Before you go about doing any maintenance, we need to be sure that the cause of the slowdowns is not malware.

Windows Vista
HP g60 Laptop
Avast Antivirus
Spyware 2012 (but im not sure if thats actually doing anything)

 

Is it Spyware 2012 or Anti-spyware 2012?
Anti-spyware 2012 is a rogue program which does more harm than good.

I think you should head over to the malware removal section so the experts can look and make sure your computer is free of malware.

download MGTools, run them and get logs.

When you have the logs, start a new thread and post in this section

If you don't have those photos and videos backed up on an external media, doing so should be top priority.
