Compaq presario help needed

hi guys
a mate has sent me his old compaq presario 1400 notebook to upgrade, i have managed to find out it has a Celeron 566mhz (yes thats right) processor, and only 64mb of ram (how does it boot up)
What i need to know is: how do i find out what type of ram it is, and will i need to buy two (if they fit in pairs) short of taking it apart with no manual to help.
Can anyone tell me if there is a program i can download to tell me these things, and does anyone know where i can buy the memory from.
