Running win7 64 Bit fully patched up to date etc. Most times now when I copy files (Pictures so 1 to 3 Meg) to my NAS my PC just freezes completely. No Ctrl, alt, del responds, mouse pointer locks up doesn't move, no keyboard response nothing. Only way I can get anything working is a hard reboot. I also have the same problem when I upload photos to Photobox - so I am convinced it is not the NAS box (a very reliable LG NAS that I can copy to from other PC's on the same network). I can copy from one internal disk drive to another! any ideas? I do not know how to go about further investigations as the PC just freezes and I can't do anything more with it.?? Any help would be most welcome... thanks

Sorted my own problem I think from this thread.....
http://www.sevenforums.com/network-s...in7-x64-4.html I believe it was a problem related to the WIN 7 setting for the encryption used (but I did apply other suggestions) - I set it to 40 -56 bit encryption in the WIN 7 advanced settings but also turned off a few items in the advanced settings for the Atheros L1 lan chip (on the mobo) P5KC (ASUS)... hope the link sorts out your problems too... |
