Software tool improves Samsung 840 EVO Performance

For people using a Samsung 840 EVO solid state drive,

I installed Windows 7 on my 840 EVO last January and after running the tool, I noticed an
improvement in startup time. Since the tool optimizes reads of old data, some operating

I wonder why Samsung doesn't inform users of firmware updates?

 

How would they do that?
I don't remember seeing anything about product registration and could not find SSD registration
at the Samsung web site.

I think this firmware is a special case.

Thy don't offer it via Magician because it can take a very long time to finish running which is disruptive.

 

Their Website says they do offer firmware updates on the Magician, but I look at it so seldom that I'm apt to miss it.
