Is Windows defender enough av ?

Hi.

My pc got too slow after updating avg to version 2015.
Is it good to remove av and live with windows defender ?.

I have no problems with Windows Defender on Windows 7.

 

Windows Defender is meant to work in addition to an Antivirus.

You would probably get better performance with Avast!

It's a good idea to put complementary security programs on each others "white list" so they don't try to scan each others activity.
When they start checking each other, that can slow the computer to a crawl.

Using Windows Defender

 

In Windows 8 and higher, it is a fullblown AV.

I switched to avast free which looks good enough. pc returns to normal speed.
